Batiquitos Lagoon Monthly Service Project

REI Encinitas has become proud parents of our neighboring Batiquitos Lagoon! Batiquitos Lagoon is a coastal wetland north of San Diego between the cities of Carlsbad and Encinitas. It is one of the few remaining tidal wetlands on the southern California coast of the United States. The Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation is dedicated to the preservation, enhancement, and protection of the lagoon. Over the course of the year we will be working together to restore the lagoon back to its native ecosystem by clearing invasive species, weeding, planting, creating signage and fencing, bird counting, and water sampling. Over the months we will get to see the fruits of our labor grow strong with a diversity of native wildlife. Come and join us at the Aviara Golf Club?s Argyle Restaurant every 3rd Saturday of the month. Our lagoon needs you! Anyone under the age of 18 has to be accompanied by a legal guardian.
