Feeling pain at the pump? Then learn how to get more mileage for your money at the California Center for Sustainable Energy’s (CCSE) 2nd Annual Street SmartSM Event. The free public event takes place on July 27th, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at CCSE’s main location: 8690 Balboa Ave. in Kearney Mesa.
Join us for workshops on hypermiling to increase your fuel efficiency and learn about new alternative vehicle technologies and the green transportation options available. You can also go behind the scenes of the award-winning documentary, "Who Killed the Electric Car", with Director/Creator, Chris Paine. In his keynote presentation, Paine will describe the rise and fall of the electric vehicle offering never before seen footage and a discussion on the seemingly insurmountable challenges of making the film.
Find out how greening your worldSM with CCSE can earn you cash incentives, lower car insurance rates and low interest loans. A wide array of alternative fuel vehicles will be on display at the event including the solar-powered Solar Taxi. The Solar Taxi is making a stop in San Diego during its trip around the world to raise awareness about global warming and alternatives to fossil fuel-based transportation.
