Surfing Adventure on Maui

With a chill in the air and the water dropping into the 50's, it was time to travel to surf Maui and pay Larry a visit (Givahoot is currently negotiating with Larry to provide our readers with Island info relating to surf, camping and surfing culture in the South Pacific).
Only about 5 and 1/2 hours after boarding the plane at LAX we landed in Kahuili. I felt the warmth I was after right away.
We decided to check Hookipa for surf and found no shortage of waves, wind or stoked surfers as you can see from the photos on this page.
Most of our days surfing around Maui we were up before sunrise, downing coffee & papayas, then motoring up to Honolua Bay hoping to catch some good wavesl. It was never easy to get past the doughnuts in the Napili market on the way there. They're not VG's but they made me feel at home.
We managed to hit the bay on a couple days when the surf was fun and the crowd wasn't too heavy for the waves. Anyone who got to see us climb the muddy trail at Honulua was in for a good laugh.
